This is a 30 minute film designed to help communities and neighborhoods take the first steps towards food security and a thriving economic future in the Post-Petroleum era. “Getting Real about Food & the Future” (GRAFF) is designed for organizing and action, not just discussion. It emphasizes solutions and answers to the deepest problems of transition to the new food economy. GRAFF features the wisdom of John McKnight, Bill McDonough, Lester Brown, David Korten, Bob Costanza, Ted Schettler and others.

An Appreciation of Chris Bedford and His Documentaries
In her brief talk following a screening of Getting Real About Food and the Future! Stephanie Mills will reflect on the timeliness of Chris Bedford’’s final film, describe his other work, talk a little bit about his life of service, and offer gratitude for his courage and dedication.
Since her galvanic Mills College commencement address in 1969, Stephanie Mills has been speaking, editing, writing, and organizing for ecology and social change. Her books include Epicurean Simplicity,Tough Little Beauties, and On Gandhi’s Path: Bob Swann’s Work for Peace and Community Economics. A longtime bioregionalist and veteran of the Whole Earth publications, Mills’ scores of essays and articles have appeared in publications from Glamour to The Britannica Book of the Year and numerous anthologies. Active in her community, Mills helped launch a local currency in northwest lower Michigan, her home since 1984. Featured in the PBS documentary EarthDays, Mills holds an honorary doctorate from her alma mater and is a Fellow of the Post Carbon Institute.
